New & Reviewed: Physicians Formula BB Cream, Hawaiian body lotion, & More

Hi everyone and happy summer!  I recently picked up some new products to try and thought I would do a little new & reviewed post for you all!  Today I am going to be reviewing a tropical smelling lotion by Alba Botanica, an on-trend white nail polish by Sally Hanson, and two physicians formula products, their CC+ concealer and their NEW BB cream!  So, lets get started looking at these products!

Alba Botanica Hawaiian hand & body lotion

Rating 9/10
I always love trying new Bath and Body products, when I saw/smelled this Hawaiian body butter in the drugstore I had to pick it up!  I was drawn to this product because right on the front it said that the brand does not test on animals, and that the product was a replenishing coco butter.  So I was like coco butter = chocolate smelling and let me just say, this product smells AMAZING, like a mixture of chocolate and coconuts, a perfect scent for summer!  When using this product it made my skin feel super hydrated, and the scent lingers as well which is a plus!  The only reason I did not give this body lotion a 10 is because it did not clear up my dry patches, but it does sooth the skin and smell like the beach so I would say that this product is a love!

Sally Hanson full Salon manicure nail polish / 195 Let's snow

Rating 10/10
So if your an avid reader of my blog you know that the Sally Hanson full salon manicure line is my absolute favorite formula of nail polish, so really I am just reviewing the color here because the formula is beautiful.  The polish goes on perfectly smooth with lots of pigment and shine, plus it lasts for about a week with hardly any chips!  So lets talk about  Let's Snow, this is a plain white shade that I have taken a liking to!  I recently noticed that EVERYONE I knew/watched on youtube was wearing white nail polish, and I wanted to join in on the trend!  I have never worn a white color on my nails before and I must say I really enjoy it!  White nails match with every outfit I wear and looks super chic at the same time. I give white nails a 10/10, if you haven't joined in on this trend already I recommend you pick up a white polish in your favorite formula for the summer!

Physicians formula CC+ Concealer

Rating 5/10
So recently I have been on the hunt for a cruelty free concealer that has the quality of the Maybelline fit me; smooth application, perfect color match, and brightening full coverage.  Sadly this physicians formula concealer is not a product that I will be adding to my everyday face.  When I swatched this concealer I found that the texture was a nice thick liquid which I liked, but when I applied the concealer I had to build it up quite a bit to conceal under my eyes.  When built up the concealer looks average but after around two hours it begins to oxidize and turn slightly orange.  I would not recommend this concealer, but I've tried much worse concealers in my time.  At least the physicians formula concealer provides coverage for a bit.

Physicians Formula Organic wear BB cream

Rating 10/10
With a complete turnaround from the physicians formula concealer I ended up LOVING their new organic wear BB cream!  In the summer I tend to reach for a light weight BB cream instead of a heavy foundation because of the heat and the fact that my skin is at it's best during the summer months.  This BB cream has become my all time favorite, it matches my skin tone perfectly, blends in beautifully, and has a nice light coverage so it looks like my skin is naturally flawless hahah!  This BB cream also has spf 15 which is a must for the summer and as a bonus this product smells like coconut, yes I'm 100% serious.  I have nothing but love for this BB cream that I added to my everyday products.  If your looking for the perfect summer BB cream, this is it!

I hope this post was helpful for those of you looking to try out some beauty products for the summer!  My favorites will be linked in A Few of my Favorite things on my blog!  Have a sunny day!

October 2014 Favorites

Hello everyone, today I am going to share with you my October favorites!  Makeup, bath and body, haircare, and more, October was a great month for all things autumn! Plus, if you want to watch a video of me explaining my favorites, there is a video from my youtube channel in the beginning of this post.  I hope you all enjoy, and the links to the available idems mentioned will be listed in Chloe's These are a few of my Favorite things

Video

Makeup

My first makeup favorite is this gorgeous blush by Sleek in the color 926 Rose Gold.  This is a perfect autumn blush that adds a deep pink golden glow to my cheeks.  I am in love with this product and it's literally the only blush I've been wearing this season!

This Milani Illuminating face powder is a beautiful product to use as a bronzer if you have a fair skin tone.  It is in the shade 02 Hermosa rose and I use it as a bronzer because it is just dark enough to contour but doesn't look fake on my now pale fall/winter skin.  It has a deep rose tint to it's light brown shade and a bit of a glow as well.  If you are looking for a more natural product to warm up your face this is the one for you! Above is a further away picture of the product when I first got it and an up close one of  how it looks now.

For lip products I have been using this L'oreal lipliner in the shade Beyond Pink a lot!  It is a matte pink toned nude liner that reminds me of the lip color that Kylie Jenner wears often.  I wear this liner all over my lips and it gives off a nice neutral tone, which is perfect paired with a bold eyeshadow look.

The last makeup product I am going to talk about is this beautiful dark lipgloss by Maybelline in the shade 110 Mirrored Mauve.  It is a beautiful plum/berry/mauve high shine and pigment gloss.  I also love that this shade is not too dark for everyday wear, so I am constantly reaching for this beautiful mauve lip product!

Haircare

In October I tried these two Argon oil of morocco products by the brand Organix and I love them both!  The product on the left is their penetrating oil, I use it before or after straightening and/or blowdrying my hair and it makes my hair soft, shiny, and healthy looking!  The product on the right is the Intense moisturizing treatment which I put in my hair after a shower and leave it in over night, this as well makes my hair super soft, and healthy looking.  But just to be warned with these too products, they do not fix broken hair, they just restore softness and shine to make it appear healthy, with that said they do their job well and that is why they are favorites of mine for this month!

Nails

Yes, I do adore Sally Hanson nail polishes, but I thought that this month I would branch out and find something new,  it turns out that I found a favorite!  This Wet n Wild Megalast nail polish in the shade 206c Undercover is a beautiful mauve shade that is perfect for the fall!  Paired with my Sally Hanson Super shine top coat this polish wears just like a Sally Hanson one which is perfect because I am in love with the color!

Of course I have been wearing a Sally Hanson polish as well this October!  This one is from the Diamond strength collection in the shade 420 Nude shimmer.  I love the light pink undertone to this nude / rose gold polish.  Such a gorgeous,  wearable, shimmer polish, that lasts about a week with no chips!

Fashion

For fashion, this month I can't stop wearing this super cozy dress paired with my knee high socks!  The cream dress I have on is from Brandy Melville.  It is long sleeved and made of a soft cotton material witch is perfect for layering in the fall and winter seasons.  Since it is a cream colored dress and a bit see through I had to wear another dress underneath it, so I paired it with a beige floral shift dress from American eagle. I love how the floral dress can be seen peaking out of the bottom of the dress and the straps are shown as well, because it adds a vintage feel to to the outfit.  Since I went for a comfy look I have been obsessed with wearing my brown, knit, knee high socks from Target with this dress and they are so cute and cozy!  You may also recognize this outfit from my fall lookbook! Except in that picture, (third down) I dressed it up a bit more with my nude flats, this just shows the same dress can be worn different ways and give off a totally different vibe.

Bath & Body

I have quite a few fall scents I have been loving this month that I am excited to share with you!  This first pair is a soap and a body mist in the scent Pumpkin Latte & Marshmallow comfort. The key notes are Pumpkin latte, Toasted Marshmallow, Creamy Sandalwood, White Ginger, and Praline Musk.  This scent is so warm, sweet and cozy, it reminds me of cuddling up by the fire on a cool autumn day.  When I went to find the bottle to type the scent description I was happily surprised to find this scent in lotion form as well! I didn't even remember I bought it!

This Sweet Cinnamon pumpkin triple moisture body cream has been a life saver for my skin.  It smells beautifully reminiscent of pumpkin pie which is an added bonus too!  The key notes are Heirloom Pumpkin, Autumn Cinnamon,  Ginger Snap, Whipped Vanilla, and Golden amber.  I put this lotion on before I go to bed and all night and all morning I have smooth skin smelling of pumpkin pie.

This last product is a hand cream also by Bath and Bodyworks in the scent Vermont Sugar Maple.  Let me just tell you, this is one of my favorite scents that Bath and Bodyworks has ever made and I was so upset when they didn't make it in a fragrance or soap.  It's a sweet scent that smells deliciously of a maple cookie and I am obsessed!  This was a fall 2013 product and I knew they wouldn't make many more, so I bought 3 of them last year!  I wish it was still available, because this is my fall hand cream that I carry in my purse at all times and I will be pretty upset when it runs out.

Cute things

First for my Cute Things category is this Pumpkin tumblr cup!  It really got me into the Halloween spirt in October, and since I drink smoothies constantly, and I love collecting smoothie cups. This one was a cute addition to my collection!

The last idem in this blogpost is my favorite favorite of October!  A cream colored fuzzy Blanket from Target!  I literally live wrapped in this blanket and only take it off when I leave the house (the obsession is real).  It's so soft and cuddly, the perfect blanket for chilly weather.  It was only 12 dollars at Target, and if I knew I would be this obsessed I would have bought wayyyy more!!

I hope you all enjoyed my favorites, and if you are interested in any of the products mentioned take a look at Chloe's These are a Few of my Favorite Things   Be sure to check out my last blogpost which includes my 1ST BLOGGER BIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY of a BATH and BODYWORKS GIFT CARD, going on until November 19th.  Talk to me in the comments about these products and others you've been loving as well, and I'll see you soon!

March 2014 Favorites

Yes, I know I'm a little late, but better late then never!  Today I have for you all a post on my March favorites!  I am going to show you some of my favorite beauty products and fashion items that I have been loving this march.  First, I have the March 2014 favorites video from my youtube; Beautyybychloe and then I have pictures of the products which I will explain more in depth in this post.  Lastly, all the products mentioned that are still available will be linked in the section of my blog titled Chloe's These are a few of my Favorites Things.  So, lets begin!

In this video I will explain all of my favorite products from march!  I hope you enjoy!

My first favorite of this month is the Bath and Body works sent Paris amour.  As you can see I got a bit carried away!  I bought the soap, body mist, lotion, and hand sanitizer.  The packaging is adorable, pink with bows and an Eiffel tower, definitely my style!  Also, all the product is pink!  This sent is described as "a dreamy blend of French tulips, apple blossoms, and sparkling pink champagne touched with sandalwood and creamy musk".  It is a perfect spring sent, the strongest notes are the tulips and pink champagne.  The name fits the sent perfectly, and whenever I use the body spray or soap I think; this is what paris must smell like! I have been using all these products daily and love smelling like Paris amour!

Next I have a haircare favorite, the Tresemm'e Keratin Smooth Flat Iron smoothing spray.  This product I spray onto my hair before I blow-dry, straighten, or curl my hair and it really makes a difference!  I have found that while using this my hair is smoother, softer, and has more volume.  The main ingredient is keratin, which is what makes this spray so great, keratin is amazing for your hair and makes is softer, smoother, and more healthy.  After trying this and seeing the results I have switched most of my products to Keratin based ones and my hair is looking much healthier already!

Now lets talk mascara, this month has been a good lash month for sure!  I have been using the Maybelline Falsies volume express mascara in the waterproof formula.  I won this mascara from the lookbranche  blog giveaway and I have fallen in love with it! The brush is shaped like a C for max volume and coating every lash, and formula makes my lashes darker while giving  them loads of volume!  When I wear this mascara my lashes are big enough to the point where they almost look like falsies!  Another great thing is that I don't have  a problem with clumping either, which earns this mascara a 10 out of 10 in my book!

The next favorite I have for this month is the Sephora collection double ended retractable brush.  On one end is a medium sized powder brush and on the other end is an angled brush about the same size.  I use the powder end to apply my blush and I use the angled end to apply my bronzer.  What I love about this brush besides the fact that is two brushes in one, is the fact that it is super soft and at the same time very durable, at the affordable price of 22$!  In the future I will be purchasing more brushes from the Sephora collection because I love the softness and durability of them, and I would definitely recommend you trying out some Sephora brushes for yourself!

My last Beauty favorite is the Sally Handson complete salon manicure polish in the shade 470 Red my lips.  It is safe to say that the entire line of Sally Handson complete salon manicure polish is my favorite polish I have discovered so far!  The colors are so brilliant, the finish  is comparable to a gel polish, and it dries pretty quick!  These polishes don't even need a second coat!  When I first tried a color from this line I was amazed at the vibrancy of the color and the gel like finish so I bought another, and another, and another, and now I'm at the point where I hardly use any other polish that is not from the line!  The color I have been wearing this month is shade 470 Red my lips.  It is a perfect shade of red, not to dark or bright, a nice classic shade.  I love this line of polish and  Red my lips is one of my favorites, I just feel so classy with red nails!

Statement necklaces are hot these season, I have been seeing them everywhere!  So I decided to buy a few of my own, and my favorite one this month has been this one with white flowers from the store Love Culture.  It is the perfect size, not too over powering for my neck.  I love wearing flowers  for the spring so of course this necklace is one of my favorites!  I  have had a lot of fun pairing it with some of my favorite blouses like the one shown below, and it adds the perfect spring touch to my outfits!

My last favorite is this light blue spring blouse that I bought from the store Love Culture.  Basically in the spring all I wear is blouses so I love finding new ones!  This blouse is made of a nice light material, great for those warmer days.  A unique and perhaps my favorite part about this blouse is the sleeves.  They are off the shoulder, puffed out sleeves and there are two spaghetti straps holding the top up, so adorable!  And the color, gorgeous!  I have also found a lot of cloths in this light blue color  that I adore for the spring!  This top is the picture of spring and I have been loving it this month!

I hope you enjoyed my March 2014 favorites and leave a comment below telling me what your favorites are this month, or a link to a blogpost you wrote or video you filmed about your favorites because I would love to check it out!  Also, tell me what you think about my favorites, and we can chat in the comments section!♡Chloe

Fall Studded Nail Tutorial

I always like to do my nails in colors and looks according to the season, so today I came up with this studded nail design for the fall that I will explain how to create in this post.

First I painted all of my nails except my ring finger with Essie's color 624 called Mink muffs.  On the ring finger I painted that nail with Essie's color 704 called Sew psyched. Then I applied a second coat once the colors dried.

Once my nails had dried completely I used my Love Aero studded nail stickers from Aeropostale.  To apply them I found the sticker that fit best with each nail and stuck them on.  Afterwords I needed to cut them to shape, then my nails were complete!

Here is the finished product!  This nail design is pretty for the fall with the neutral colors.  Also the studs are a great contrast giving the design a little bit of an edge and shine.  I hope you enjoyed my nail tutorial and if you happen to recreate it show me using the hashtag #beautyybychloe and all the products I used that are still available will be listed below.
