Exploring NYC Art Fashion & Photos

Welcome back to my blog!  Today I'm sharing photos from my day in the city during New York fashion week.  My friend Amanda and I made the trip to see a fashion show done by Yuna Yang and I wrote all about the show in a previous post - Attending Yuna Yang F/W 17 Fashion show.

This post contains all the other pictures we took that day; wandering into the Whitney museum, lunch at a cute vegan cafe and of course outfit pictures.  Thank you Amanda for the stunning photography and adventure, check out her Youtube channel  & Instagram

Metropark Train station about 8am.

Arrived at Penn station and wandered throughout Manhattan.

Blick acrylic art store - rows and rows of paint and art supplies, fit Amanda's aesthetic & matched her sweater.  Pretty cool to see so many shades of paint in one place.

Blossom Du Jour is a cute vegan cafe where we got lunch - vegan mac & cheese and a kale sweet potato wrap.  Fancy vegan lunches at cafes are always my favorite.

The Whitney Museum of American Art has numerous floors filled with inspiring pieces of pop art done by american artists.

The view of from the rooftop of the Whitney Museum of the New York skyline is breath taking.

What I wore for the day was simple and chic with a touch of dazzle; very New York.

This look is simply head to toe neutrals; a plain black long sleeve top, wide leg mauve trousers and vintage pointed toe kitten heels.

I really love the style of wide leg pants and a tight fitted top.  These trousers are from the brand express, very stylish and comfortable to wear wide leg pants are a 70's trend making a comeback.  The mauve shade of these pants adds a delicate femininity to this look along with the cute pointed toe heels I selected simply because the toes peak right out from the hem of the pants.

I chose to accessorize this look with rose gold details; a simple rose gold choker necklace and a stack of glittering rose gold rings both from Charming Charlie are the jewelry pieces I selected to add a bit of sparkle to the outfit.

The starring accessory of this look is this dazzling rose gold clutch from Henri Bendel.  This glamorous bag is the shining star of the outfit adding luxury to the simply chic look while pulling together the outfit and jewelry pieces.

I enjoyed my city adventure and hope to return soon.  Let me know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to follow my Instagram to see daily pictures.
Talk to you in my next post!

90's Grunge Photoshoot

For today's post I'm sharing pictures from a 90's grunge inspired photoshoot I modeled in with Kirsten O'Brien that I shot with Amanda Halbert from lvl5films!  Be sure to check out their Instagram @lvl5films & Youtube channel to see their film & photography work!

My outfit is a bit of a girly take on the 90's Grunge style.

90's Grunge Video

I'm wearing this ribbed knit bodycon T-shirt dress from Pacsun as a base for my look. Plain T- shirts were popular in the 90's as a staple piece in any teen's wardrobe, I love the look of wearing T- shirts as dresses.

To add a pop of color into my outfit I raided my Dad's closet and found this oversized kelly green jean jacket.  My dad wore this jacket in 1992 so it's an actual 90's piece.   The heavy oversized jean jacket fit the grunge theme perfectly, in the 90's clothing was worn slightly oversized as a look.

For shoes I work black Timberland boots.  These boots are just so casually cool looking and fit in perfectly with the vibe of my outfit.

To finish off my outfit with a girly touch I raided my Mom's dresser to find this floral scrunchie.   Scrunchies were such a popular hair piece in the 90's and I love the floral detailing on this one, the accents of green match my jean jacket.

I swapped out the scrunchie with a simple grey beanie halfway through the shoot.  The ribbed knit beanie matched perfectly with my dress and added an edgy vibe to the look.

I had alot of fun shooting this look, it was a bit different from my usual style but I really love it. I hope you all have gained some insight on how you can put together a 90's grunge inspired look! Thank you again to Lvl5films for the photos.   Leave me a comment below with your thoughts on this look & I'll see you next time!

Girly Winter Fashion of December 2015

Happy New year Everyone! Today I thought I would type up a quick post on my favorite looks I wore this December! There were so many holiday photoshoots and parties that there quickly became so many looks I fell in love with, so thats how this post came about! I hope you enjoy all the girly /chic /glam outfit inspiration that you can use for your next winter event! Without further ado here are my favorite looks from the month...

Angelic

This first outfit is called "Angelic", an all white ensemble with  a bit of shimmer.  My A line skirt from Aeropostale is made of a glittering white material, it has that beautiful snowlike shine!  I paired it with a plain white tank from aeropotale to balance out the glitter.  To finish the outfit I added a sheer ribbon with a bit of silver glitter to my hair, completing this angelic look.

Pretty Pearls

This next outfit is titled "Pretty Pearls", a glamorous look incorporating an excess amount of pearls.  As you may know by now I have an obsession with pearls, they give off an old hollywood look that I adore!  When I saw this mini blouse/jacket with intricate designs dripping in pearls I knew it had to be mine.  Aside from the gorgeous pearls the blouse has 3/4 sleeves, is made of a cream colored light material, and is from Forever 21.  I paired the pearl piece with a strapless shimmering white dress from BCBG with this adorable sweetheart neckline and cute ruffles. All together (paired with pearl earrings of course) this outfit makes me feel like a movie star.

Pink Party

This next outfit is titled "Pink party" because it is sooooo flirty fun and pink!  The focus of this outfit is the pastel pink dress from Forever 21, it has short sleeves that bubble out along with a cute bubble skirt giving the outfit a fun personality.  Also on the dress is a subtle swirling design that glistens in the light, beautiful details creating a girly / glam element to the outfit.  For shoes I decided to wear white kitten heels from famous footwear dressing up the outfit even more.

Lacey Chic

This last outfit I like to call "Lacey chic", it includes lots of lace with a girly shabby chic vibe.  I am wearing this darling cream lace dress from Abercrombie which has a perfect "vintage christmas" vibe.  I paired the dress with a pink ribbon to add the perfect girly touch completing this adorable outfit.

Be sure to comment below your favorite look that I showed above!  I look forward to this new year of blogging, there will be a lot more posts in 2016 :)
See you next time!
